Spiritual Ingredients in the Music of Resistance
A Truly African-American Experience

Newark community advocate Junius Williams and the singing group Return to the Source will present a musical celebration of Spirituals, Blues, Jazz and other forms of "Freedom Songs" in the African American tradition, music that carved out a significant place in America's musical culture. Join us in an evening of good singing that conveys a spiritual message of who we are as a people, as well as telling the story of our American experience.

Return to the Source has performed in hundreds of schools, colleges, cultural events and festivals where music and the message are important. Junius Williams is a well known attorney, musician and educator. He is the Director of the Abbott Leadership Institute at Rutgers University, Newark.

The concert is free and open to the public.
